Verifying Liveliness Check

ID Verification provides two types of Liveness checks:

Passive Liveness Check

Based on your system configuration, the end-user may need to select between uploading a photo or taking a picture in real-time.

In case the end-user selects the real-time selfie option:
• The end-user must align their face with the boundary indicator lines, after which the program will automatically take the selfie. The end-user does not need to take any additional action.
If the end-user mispositions their face, our intelligent assistant will display pointed hints to help them position correctly.

Liveness Check

The end-user is requested to follow the instructions given by the program:
· The user is instructed to align their face in the oval indicator lines.
· A smile and a neutral look should be given at intervals specified by the program.
· If the process fails, the user is allowed to repeat the process, with no more than 2 attempts.
· The capturing of the dynamic selfie of the user happens automatically without additional steps from the end-user.

Liveness Analysis

If the ID Verification system successfully determines the user’s liveness, the photo extracted from the identification document and the photo from the video selfie are compared to determine the similarity rating, expressed as percentages that can be manually pre-determined by the clients themselves

Face Similarity

The face similarity module involves comparing a photo of a person and a photo of a document with each other and determining how alike they are. With the photo comparison service, the faces depicted in the photos are compared to each other and are considered to have a similarity coefficient. This parameter determines the success of the session.
Face similarity service provides protection methods against unwanted intrusion from the user.

Document Reader Checks

The Document Reader module digitizes the information on the document, both from the Visual Zone as well as MRZ and QR code, if present. Comparing the information read in different parts of the document with each other.
The document reader converts the image of the document into textual information. The document reader extracts the text From the Machine Read Zone (MRZ) as well as from the Visual Read Text Zone. The service determines the position of the document in the image and assesses "blur", brightness, darkness, and similar determining visual characteristics. This module is also responsible for identifying and cropping the person’s photo ID to prepare it for further comparison.

The following features can be enabled:

Check Document Spoofing: This feature is crucial for detecting fraudulent documents due to alteration. This could include checking for inconsistencies in fonts, text alignment, or signs of digital manipulation.
Check Document Grayscale: This setting determines whether the document presented is in color or black and white. This check can be part of assessing the document's authenticity, as certain official documents are always issued in color.
Check Document Visual Damage: This feature inspects the physical condition of the document. A visually intact document is more likely to be valid and reliable for verification purposes.
Compare Document Fields: This setting involves a detailed comparison between the information presented on the front and back of the document. The aim is to ensure consistency and accuracy of information across different parts of the document.
Compare Document Pages: Similar to comparing document fields, this feature focuses on matching lesser-known or less obvious parts of the document's front and back.
Use External Zone Reader: This feature uses external services to read writing scripts other than ones natively supported by ID Verification.
Identify Person with Face: This advanced feature uses facial recognition technology to match the person presenting the document with a face database. This is useful for session grouping and can be employed in fraud detection.
Enable Motion Spoofing Detection: Particularly relevant for video-based verifications, this feature detects alterations in video submissions. It's designed to identify any signs of video tampering.
